Quick verdict: Choose a Kiierr laser cap if you want an FDA-cleared, laser-only cap with 272 to 312 diodes, a short daily session on its newer models and a 7-month money-back guarantee. Choose Reseen Halo if you'd rather wear a slim, flexible light liner inside your own baseball cap, want red lasers plus a separate blue LED mode, and are comfortable with a newer device whose FDA 510(k) clearance is still pending.
At a glance
Kiierr sells four laser caps. We compare Halo with the 272 DualWave, Kiierr's newest model and the closest to Halo in emitter count.

Info checked: October 2026. Kiierr prices are sale prices shown on its site at that time.
The Kiierr line-up, per kiierr.com: 272 Premier (272 × 650nm, 30 min every other day, $1,199 sale), 272 DualWave (above), 302 UltraFlex (302 × 650nm, 6 min daily, $1,799 sale) and 312 DualWave (272 × 650nm + 40 × 808nm, 6 min daily, $2,199 sale). None use LEDs.
Light source and wavelengths
Both devices use red light in the range most home scalp devices share. A 2021 review in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology by Lueangarun and colleagues found all 32 FDA-listed home-use devices it analyzed used sources between 620 and 678nm. Kiierr uses 650nm laser diodes; Halo uses 660nm red VCSEL lasers.
The differences are in what surrounds that red light:
• Kiierr DualWave models add 40 near-infrared diodes at 808nm. Kiierr says this is for deeper reach. The Premier and UltraFlex are 650nm only.
• Halo adds 128 blue LEDs at 460nm for a separate Scalp Balance mode. Blue light acts near the skin's surface, so it's there for scalp-surface care, not as a substitute for the red lasers.
Where Kiierr wins: more red laser diodes. Every Kiierr light source is a laser, and even the entry Premier has 272 of them versus Halo's 128 red lasers. If raw red laser count is your top criterion, Kiierr is ahead.
Fit, form factor and discretion
Kiierr's caps are built to look like baseball caps, and reviewers note that's discreet. Wareable's May 2026 review of the entry 148 Pro called the design easy to travel with and found it comfortable at about one pound. Kiierr lists a fit range of 23.5 to 24 inches head circumference for the 312.
Halo takes a different approach. Instead of a finished cap with diodes built into a shell, FlexArray™ is a liner made of five flexible panels that bend to the shape of your head. It snaps magnetically into the included Reseen cap, or slips into most standard baseball caps you already own (darker caps are recommended to keep light directed inward). Fit matters because light spreads as it travels; our scalp coverage guide explains why evenness across the hairline, part and crown matters as much as diode count.
Routine and ease of use
Kiierr's newer caps (272 DualWave, 302, 312) run about 6 minutes once a day and shut off automatically; the 302 has sensors so it won't switch on unless it's on your head. The 272 Premier runs 30 minutes every other day. All use a rechargeable battery pack that connects to the cap. Wareable found the pack took about 10 to 12 hours to fully charge.
Halo is wireless and charges by USB-C. Smart wear detection starts the light only when the liner is seated properly. Sessions are 10 minutes for Red · Daily Care or Blue · Scalp Balance, and 15 minutes for Red + Blue · Deep Care.
Where Kiierr wins: a shorter session on its newer models.
Evidence and FDA status
Kiierr. Kiierr's site displays "FDA Cleared" and states the intended use: men with Norwood-Hamilton IIa to V, women with Ludwig-Savin I to II, Fitzpatrick skin types I to IV. In FDA's 510(k) database we found K181878 (September 2018) for the Kiierr 272 Laser and Kiierr 148 Laser, at 650nm, with a 30-minute, every-other-day protocol. We did not find a separate listing naming the DualWave, UltraFlex or 312 models, so if you're buying one of those, ask Kiierr which clearance applies.
On research, Kiierr's product pages describe "clinically tested" results and summarize unnamed trials, but they don't name a Kiierr-specific published study. The broader category does have evidence: the Lueangarun meta-analysis pooled seven randomized trials and found home-use laser devices increased hair density compared with sham devices.
Reseen Halo. Halo's FDA 510(k) clearance is pending, expected early 2027, and Reseen has not published clinical trials on Halo. Halo is a cosmetic device designed to support scalp health for a healthier-looking scalp and fuller-looking hair.
Where Kiierr wins: FDA clearance on record today and a longer track record.
Price and value
At $499 planned, Halo costs less than any current Kiierr laser cap on Kiierr's site in October 2026, which ranged from $1,199 to $2,199 on sale. That's a real difference, but it reflects real trade-offs: Kiierr gives you more red laser diodes and FDA clearance now. Halo's price is provisional until launch.
Warranty and returns
Kiierr offers a 2-year manufacturer warranty. Its 7-month growth guarantee requires registering a before photo within 45 days, using the cap for 210 days, and returning it between days 210 and 240. A 25% fee applies unless you provide 7-month photo documentation. For Halo terms, see Reseen warranty.
Where Kiierr wins: a published, long money-back window.
Which should you choose?
• Choose Reseen Halo if… you want a slim liner that works with your own cap, prefer a wireless USB-C device, want both red laser and blue LED modes in one routine, and value a lower planned price over having FDA clearance today.
• Choose a Kiierr laser cap if… FDA clearance now matters most, you want a laser-only cap with 272 or more diodes, you like a 6-minute daily session, or you want a 7-month money-back guarantee.

Is the Kiierr laser cap FDA-cleared?
Kiierr says its caps are FDA-cleared. FDA's database lists K181878 (2018) for the Kiierr 272 and 148 lasers. We couldn't find a listing naming the DualWave or UltraFlex models, so confirm coverage with Kiierr. Reseen Halo's 510(k) is pending, expected early 2027.
How long does a Kiierr session take?
Per Kiierr's site, about 6 minutes once daily on the 272 DualWave, 302 UltraFlex and 312 DualWave, and 30 minutes every other day on the 272 Premier. Halo sessions are 10 or 15 minutes.
What do Kiierr reviews say?
Wareable rated the 148 Pro 3.5 out of 5 in May 2026, praising its discreet, travel-friendly design and simple sessions, but noting slow battery charging and subtle results after three months.
